The Society's principal publications are the Journal and the Bibliography. The Journal, published each December, is one of the UK’s leading periodicals in the field. Medieval castles of the British Isles have always been one of the particular strengths of the journal, but there are no geographical limits to its range, which continues to expand. Selected pdf articles from the Journal issues of from two or more years ago are freely available for consultation on-line here. All subscribing members receive the journal as part of the membership package.
The 2011-12 issue, printed in full colour, is now available (December 14 2011). The cover image of the Great Tower at Orford, Suffolk is taken from the Annual Proceedings section, a 100 page summary of the CSG’s Annual Conference based in Colchester in 2011. Other Journal articles for 2011-12 include:
- The Rise of the Anticlockwise Newel Stair - Neil Guy
